南部高地社區（Southern Highlands ）的開發商又有新的行動，準備在維加斯西北角整體開發大型住宅區。      開發商Olympia Cos.近日宣佈，計畫在維加斯西北角， Grand Teton Drive 與95號公路之間開發1,700英畝的總體規 劃社區。這塊大面積的土地可用來興建9,000套民宅，同時 也可以做商業和賭場開發用途。     Olympia Cos.公司表示，在未來10年內，將這塊土地出售給房屋建築商。Olympia Cos.公司的主席兼首席執行官Garry Goett表示，計畫中的這個社區將成為自2007年以來當地首個大型物業開發。     Olympia Cos.公司開發的南部高地社區位於維加斯賭城大道以南約11英里處，面積2,750英畝，社區居民人數超過20,000。

The Olympia Companies announced today the launch of a new master planned community in Las Vegas. The 1,700 acre community is the first major development to be announced in the Las Vegas area since the beginning of the recession.

Olympia Companies, a leading developer known for its luxury residential communities including Southern Highlands, will be the master developer of the project in partnership with the property's owners. The property is owned by a group of financial institutions led by affiliates of Stonehill Capital Management and Spectrum Group Management LLC, who have previously partnered with Olympia on other real estate investments in Las Vegas.

The property, currently entitled for 9,000

 homes as well as commercial and 

gaming use, borders Grand Teton Drive 

and Highway 95 in Northwest Las Vegas.

“After several years of little to no movement, the announcement of this new community and increased activity in the housing and construction industry signals that our economy is strengthening,” said Las Vegas City Councilman Steve Ross. “Olympia Companies has been a great partner to our city and I am pleased to support its new development.”
