32位國家足球聯盟(National Football League，簡稱NFL)球隊老板週一齊聚一堂，以31比1的票數，幾乎全體通過奧克蘭襲擊者隊(Oakland Raiders)搬遷至賭城，變身為「拉斯維加斯襲擊者」隊了，唯一持反對票的是邁阿密海豚隊(Miami Dolphins)。
繼拉斯維加斯金色騎士隊(Las Vegas Golden Knight)本月初正式登記成為國家冰球聯盟（National Hockey League簡稱NHL）旗下的一員，襲擊者隊的加入，證明了過去這一年多來，內州、克郡及維加斯本地企業界領袖聯手推動的努力沒有白費，讓賭城迎來第二個主要的體育團隊聯盟。
克郡委員會(Clark County Commission)主席西索拉(Steve Sisolak)對這個好消息興奮地說，「哇，我們的美式足球夢終於實現了! 這不但能將本地UNLV大學美式足球隊的發展推向高峰，還能創造數以千計的就業機會，未來更將吸引數以萬計的觀光客來賭場看球賽。」
