Vegas Single-Family Home Sales up 16.8 Percent
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Real estate agents in Las Vegas say more single-family homes in southern Nevada were sold in January compared with the same month last year, but prices were lower.
The Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors said Tuesday that more than 2,900 single-family homes were sold in January. That's up 16.8 percent compared with January 2011 but down from December.
The median price of the units sold was $118,000.
The association says there were more than 19,000 homes available for sale as of Jan. 31, at a median list price of $129,000 More than 8,000 of the homes had no offers. The homes that didn't get offers had higher median list prices.
Officials say more than 4,000 were listed during the month, up more than 25 percent compared with January.
