(Image:  Wikimedia Commons) Australian casino mogul James Packer failed once in the American gaming market, but that’s not stopping him from giving the US a second try. According to reports out of Australia, Crown Resorts – the gaming firm owned by Packer – is planning to enter into the fight to take over The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Crown is likely to be just one of several companies that will take a look at purchasing the sprawling casino resort on the Strip. With almost 3,000 hotel rooms, it would give any owner a major stake in America’s biggest gambling hub. Currently, The Cosmopolitan is owned by Deutsche Bank. Packer

https://new.qq.com/rain/a/20211215A01Q3R00 維加斯舉辦 2024 年超級碗! 新聞來源：賭城天天報 發佈作者：本報記者李思欣 發佈時間：2021-12-17 　維加斯將於2024年舉辦體壇盛事超級碗（Super Bowl）。 　　（本報記者李思欣） 維加斯將於2024年舉辦體壇盛事超級碗（Super Bowl）。 　　國家美式足球聯盟 (NFL) 週三宣布，賭城將舉辦 2024 年超級碗（Super Bowl），比賽定於 2024 年 2 月 11 日舉行。第 58 屆超級碗的主辦權最初授予新奧爾良。然而，當 NFL 進入 17 場常規賽賽程時，會將大賽的日期推遲一週，這會令大賽與新奧爾良的狂歡節（Mardi Gras）有所衝突。因此，NFL 表示，新奧爾良將改為舉辦第59屆超級碗，這為維加斯申辦比賽打開了大門。NFL 老闆在德州達拉斯會面並投票，投票以32比0一致贊成維加斯舉辦第 58 屆超級碗。 第 58 屆超級碗將在維加斯突襲者隊（Las Vegas Raiders）的主場 Allegiant 體育場舉行。克縣專員邁克爾納夫特（Michael Naft）對大賽將在他的地區舉行表示高興，那是 Allegiant 體育場早期設想的經濟活動類型。這對本地社區意義重大：包括創造五億美元的總經濟影響；創造數以千計工作崗位；予小型和少數族裔企業商機，以及有機會展示維加斯一流的競技場。
